Regan Rosburg is an artist and professor living in Denver, Colorado. Her work weaves themes of biophilia with ecological conservation and awareness. Using painting, sculpture, and installation, Rosburg aims to bring emotional awareness to how human beings are psychologically responding to rapid climate change. Her most recent research focuses on environmental melancholia and collective social mania, and the destructive loop that exists between them.
Her work requires research trips to different ecologically rich places around the world. Microscopy has informed her work greatly, allowing her to see into the incredible evolutionary processes and rich diversity of the ocean. The deeper she sees into the intricacies of nature, the more it informs her process, work, and research.
In her own words “Microscopy is an amazing tool that informs me of nature’s complexity, intuition, and determination. I am always amazed at the magnitude of life’s smallest creatures, without which none of us would be here. It brings forth in me deep reverence and awe.”
